  • Maintain product flow at an appropriate rate.
  • Adhere to department protocols (5S and Safety).
  • Submit safety observations for identified hazards.
  • Support the Safety Management System (SMS) and improve safety processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The purpose of the Body Assembler is to position, shape, sand, glue, and prep components which make up our ES and carve top guitar bodies. This is a critical role in that the operator will build the body from a multitude of different components relying more on hand skills and less on machines.


Essential Functions


  • Learn and execute standard operating procedures

  • Required to apply and remove dozens of clamps in a single shift

  • Able to safely operate band saws, timesaver sanders, routers, and pneumatic press

  • 95% pass rate based on production requirements

  • Understands and meets quality standards (Specs.)

  • Maintains product flow at appropriate rate

  • Adheres to department protocols (5S and Safety)

  • Adherence to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety Rules

  • Obligation to submit Safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR code

  • Support the comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improvement of our safety processes

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience


  • Experience with using hand tools to deliver precise results required

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Team work and project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a team
