Job description

We are seeking an experienced claims professional to manage personal auto bodily injury claims, including files involving attorney represented claimants. This position requires strong investigation, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, along with the ability to independently manage claims from initial review through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate assigned bodily injury claims, including coverage, liability, damages, and applicable policy provisions.
• Manage claims in accordance with company procedures, policy contracts, fair claims practices, regulatory requirements, applicable case law, and jurisdictional guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and complete claim documentation throughout the investigation, negotiation, correspondence, and settlement process.
• Evaluate liability and damages and negotiate fair, timely settlements based on claim complexity and established authority.
• Communicate professionally with insureds, claimants, attorneys, witnesses, and other insurance carriers by phone and written correspondence.
• Explain claim decisions, establish expectations, and negotiate resolutions through final settlement.
• Identify coverage issues, including matters involving reservation of rights, and communicate significant findings to appropriate internal departments.
• Work within assigned settlement authority and obtain management approval when additional authority is required.
• Ensure claim payments and related transactions are processed accurately and promptly.
• Apply comparative negligence principles when evaluating liability and settlement exposure.

Required Qualifications

• Current Texas Resident Adjuster License.
• At least 2 years of personal lines bodily injury liability claims handling experience.
• Strong understanding of comparative negligence and bodily injury claim evaluation.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and a willingness to negotiate challenging claims.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of self-discipline.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with computerized claims systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Ability to meet performance goals and manage multiple claims effectively.
• Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
• Must be able to work in an in-office environment.

Preferred

• Associate or Bachelor's degree.
• Bilingual English/Spanish capability is a plus.
