Job summary

Ergon Inc. – Starkville Gas in Starkville, MS is seeking a dedicated Bobtail Driver to join our locally focused team.

Based in Starkville, you will safely load, transport and deliver propane to residential and commercial customers, maintain DOT compliance, and deliver outstanding customer service. As a full-time driver, you’ll work local routes and be home each night; on-call rotations for after-hours and weekend emergencies may occur.

Qualifications

• CDL required or obtainable quickly.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and handle propane equipment with safety.

Responsibilities

• Load, secure, transport, and deliver propane safely.
• Provide outstanding customer service and answer inquiries.
• Inspect vehicle and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain compliance with all DOT requirements.
• Assist service crew in setting tanks.
• Communicate issues or maintenance needs.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary

Based in Starkville, MS, Bobtail Drivers are critical to our success as they are the face of our company in their daily interactions with our current and future customers. As full-time driver on our team, you will pick up and deliver propane to residential and industrial customers in a safe and efficient manner. Delivery drivers can expect to work local routes and be home every night; however, on-call rotations for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries may be needed.

Job Description

• Load, secure, transport, and deliver propane safely
• Provide outstanding customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries
• Inspects vehicle and notify supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance
• Maintain compliance with all DOT requirements
• Assist the service crew in setting tanks
• Communicate any issues or maintenance needs
• Additional duties may be assigned by management as needed.

Job Requirements

• CDL (Class A or B) with Hazmat & Tanker preferred – or can obtain them quickly
• Clean driving record
• High School diploma or GED
• Physically able to lift 60 lbs in all weather conditions
• Truck experience preferred, but not required
