Job summary

Superior Plus Propane in Lexington, VA is seeking a Propane Bobtail Driver responsible for safe and timely propane deliveries. You will load and unload propane, provide excellent customer service, and ensure high safety standards in handling propane while conducting routine vehicle inspections.

The role offers overtime opportunity, on-call incentive potential, and a quarterly/annual incentive program. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are provided within a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CDL Class B with Tanker and Hazmat endorsement.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Authorized to work in the US; sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, load and deliver propane to customers from containers and bulk tanks.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Use technology to monitor inventory, record deliveries and print tickets.
• Perform pre/post vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; communicate issues promptly.
• Overtime may be required as business needs dictate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Propane Bobtail Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Delivery Driver will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Delivery Drivers are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane, product to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders) for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver report where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable document, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Employees may be required to work overtime hours when business needs require it.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience
• CDL Class B with Tanker and Hazmat endorsement
• Current DOT medical certification
• Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening

The hourly rate for this position is $26.00 - $28.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on‑call incentive stipend.

T his position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
