Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas in Portsmouth, RI, seeks a Carpenter to handle layout, new construction and repair of interior joinery on boats at our marina. The role includes restoration of wooden boat framing, flooring and planking, and maintenance of teak decks.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (technical training preferred), ability to read blueprints, plan and estimate projects, and own tools. Overtime may be required; SHM offers a full benefits package including 401(k), PTO, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical school training preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Experience reading construction drawings and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Plan, estimate, lay out and complete carpentry projects.
• Repair and install interior boat joinery.
• Knowledge of wooden boat construction and repair techniques.
• Assess quality of woodwork and materials.
• Operate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Assist supervisor with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
• Must possess own tools.
• Overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.
