SUMMARY:

Employees will have the necessary skills to operate tools, complete glasswork, woodwork, and install components associated with the construction of fiberglass boats. Employee will have the necessary Skills and Initiative to work well with others, and to be responsible for safety and quality of work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Understand and use all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Operate various stationary and hand tools for cutting, grinding, drilling, shaping and installing materials.
  • Installation of Basic Marine Electrical Systems (AC and DC systems. Bonding, wire runs, simple electrical connections, chaffing protections.)
  • Installation of Basic Marine Plumbing and Mechanical Systems. (Bonding, Hose Runs, Chaff protections, installing ball valves, thru hulls, seacocks, hose connections, etc)
  • Laminate Construction: Assembly decks to hull, dividers, wire way piping, supports and mounting systems.
  • Safely work with Resins and Gel coats: Prep of surfaces, proper mixing of components and disposal methods.
  • Install Cabinets, Countertops, Doors and Frames.
  • Installation of all mechanical components, to include, pumps, motors, engines, HVAC systems, controls, running gear, electronics’, etc.
  • Wet Exhaust Systems: Installation of mufflers, piping, insulation and clamping.
  • Fuel Tank: Performing pressure test, installation of tank and routing of hoses
  • Housekeeping: Clean-up work area, including stationary tools and work platforms.
  • Carries out other duties as defined by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Basic Understanding of Marine Mechanical / Electrical Installations, Required.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO READ A TAPE MEASURE TO 1/16TH INCH INCREMENTS
