Job summary

Monarch Space Systems, Inc. in Cleveland, OH is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead financial architecture for aerospace and defense programs. This on-site role emphasizes DCAA/CAS and FAR/DFARS compliance, capital strategy, and investor relations.

The CFO will report to the Founder & CEO, guide budgeting, forecasting, and audits, oversee treasury, EVMS, and export controls, and build a scalable finance organization with equity participation opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CFA strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive finance leadership with 5+ years as CFO or VP Finance
• Deep knowledge of federal government contracting financial requirements including FAR, DFARS, and CAS
• Experience establishing or managing DCAA-compliant accounting systems in aerospace/defense
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain security clearance eligibility as required
• Experience with board-level financial reporting and investor relations is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with growth, capital deployment, and federal contracting objectives.
• Establish and maintain DCAA-compliant accounting systems, CAS, and FAR/DFARS-aligned controls.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, long-range capital modeling, and treasury strategy.
• Lead financial reporting, audits, and government oversight, including DCAA audits.
• Coordinate EVMS and contract financial performance for aerospace/space systems programs.
• Manage export controls financial compliance (ITAR/EAR) and cost segregation.
• Drive finance team development and scalable infrastructure; support M&A evaluations.
