Job summary

PetVet Care Centers is seeking a compassionate and skilled Board Certified or Residency Trained Criticalist to join Memphis Veterinary Specialists. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality veterinary care and build lasting client relationships alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.

You will work closely with Hospital Manager and Regional Manager in a multi-specialty setting, with access to advanced facilities and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an accredited college/university.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• Completed a 3-year AVMA approved residency program.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Communicate effectively with clients and educate about care.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and controlled substances protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
• Monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds to uphold high standards.
• Participate in practice management updates and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
