PetVet Care Centers in Ventura, CA seeks a Board Certified or Residency-Trained Cardiologist to join a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital. You will work with a skilled team and high-end diagnostic equipment to deliver top-tier veterinary care.

The role emphasizes comprehensive exams, client education, and collaboration with Hospital/Regional Managers to maintain exceptional patient care and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• Completed a 3-year AVMA-approved residency program.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Client communication and education.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
• Monitor and update hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards.
• Participate in practice management updates and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
