Job summary

Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, Virginia seeks a Board-Certified or Residency Trained Small Animal Internist to join our specialty and emergency team. You will work with ER veterinarians and specialists, performing comprehensive exams and advanced diagnostics to provide top-tier care.

Our 24-hour facility offers a collaborative culture with state-of-the-art equipment and ongoing training. Salary range is generous with substantial signing/relocation support and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an accredited college or university.
• 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER.
• Completed a 3-year AVMA-approved residency.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Client communication and education.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Pharmacy duties including prescribing meds and controlled substances.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Work with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols daily from intake to discharge.
• Participate in rounds and training; perform other duties as assigned.
