Job summary

GI North in Georgia is seeking a Board Certified Physician Assistant to join our practice approximately 25 miles north of Atlanta. The role is primarily clinic-based with some hospital duties; GI experience is preferred but not required.

Our practice currently includes three physicians, one Nurse Practitioner, and four Physician Assistants. The clinic is in a new facility across from a state-of-the-art three-room endoscopy center, with three satellite clinics.

Qualifications

• Provide attentive, individualized and compassionate patient-centered care.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team via phone, email or in person.
• Perform physical examinations and document in medical records.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging; prescribe medications appropriately.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures and disease processes.

Responsibilities

• Duties include being primarily clinic based with some hospital duties.
• Weekend call coverage is currently 1:5 at one hospital.

Our practice currently consists of three physicians, one Nurse Practitioner, and four Physician Assistants. The clinic is a new facility located across the hallway from our new, state of the art, three room endoscopy center. Additionally, we have three satellite clinics.

The ideal candidate:

• Will be dedicated to providing attentive, individualized and companionate patient centered care.
• Be a team player who enjoys a fast paced, busy growing environment.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently to other healthcare team members via telephone, email, or in person.
• Assess, respond to, and communicate issues in a timely manner.
• Complete physical examinations and document in the medical record in an appropriate time frame.
• Order and Interpret labs and diagnostic imaging and prescribe medications appropriately.
• Educate patients and family members regarding procedures and disease processes.
• Be computer literate and have the ability to document delivery of care in the patients medical record.
• Perform duties assigned based on the needs and demands of the healthcare facility.
• Collaborate with physicians, other APPs, medical assistants, and administrators in a courteous and respectful manner.
