Job description

Ready for a fresh start? ChildServe is seeking Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to help expand our ABA program across Iowa.

We’re reimagining specialty healthcare by supporting both kids and the clinicians who care for them. At ChildServe, compassion fatigue is recognized and addressed, and your well‑being matters as much as your clinical expertise.

Our approach is flexible, child‑led, collaborative, and rooted in integrity—bringing the right experts together to support every child and family’s journey.

Student Loan repayment eligible!

As a BCBA at ChildServe you’ll enjoy:
  • An inter‑professional team: You will collaborate with clinical psychologists, mental health therapists, social workers, and speech, occupational and physical therapists to provide a holistic approach to autism services.
  • Work‑life balance, with leaders who work to recognize and prevent compassion fatigue.
  • Leadership training and continuing education opportunities to support career growth.
  • The opportunity to help shape a well‑established (but expanding) program and make a difference for kids with autism!
Schedule
  • Monday‑Friday
  • Typical business hours
Benefits
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage – Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement Planning – 403(b) retirement plan with up to a 50% employer match.
  • Paid Time Off – Generous PTO that accrues from the first day.
  • Loan Relief – Eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
  • Competitive Bonus Structure.

As a contracted partner with the Polk County Regional MHDS Network Provider, in this position you are eligible to apply for up to $20,000 in educational loan repayments.

What You'll Do
  • Assessment and treatment planning – Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and skill‑based assessment. Develop and monitor implementation of treatment plans that are individualized and utilize evidence‑based strategies. Monitor progress and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Supervision of treatment – Provide supervision of experience for BCBA candidates pursuing certification. Provide supervision of treatment plan implementation for certified and non‑certified direct care providers.
  • Collaboration – Collaborate with each child’s interdisciplinary team to implement effective techniques across all environments promoting progress and generalization. Advise and contribute to the development and growth of ChildServe’s Autism program.
  • Training – Provide training to staff and families on treatment plans, including the use of standardized training curricula. Provide or collaborate on training within ChildServe and the community.
Where You'll Be

Des Moines is an award‑winning community that offers world‑class education, commute times averaging 20 minutes or less, welcoming suburbs, and a vibrant downtown with unique and eclectic restaurants and shops. Plus, many one‑of‑a‑kind experiences, including:

  • Sculpture Park, featuring works of 22 of the world’s most celebrated artists.
  • #2 Top Farmer’s Market in America with over 300 vendors.
  • Festivals and outdoor concerts.
  • Diverse theater scene.
  • Local breweries producing award‑winning craft beers.
What You'll Need
  • Master’s Degree in Related Field and BCBA certification required. Successful completion of the BACB’s Supervisor Training Curriculum preferred. Will consider those sitting for BCBA exam in the next 6 months.
  • Preferred: Minimum of two years’ experience working with children with Autism and other developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
