Job Description

Job Description

“If they can’t learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn.” – Ivar O. Lovaas

Tired of productivity quotas and feeling like a number? At Unlocking Abilities Behavior & Learning (UABL), we do things differently.

Here, your ideas matter, your expertise is respected, and your time is valued. You’ll join a BCBA-led team that prioritizes balance, collaboration, and genuine growth — not billable-hour pressure. This is a place where you can do what you love, see your impact every day, and be part of something that truly feels like home.

Who We Are

Founded and led by a BCBA, UABL is a community-centered organization dedicated to helping children with autism and developmental disabilities reach their fullest potential. We believe in creating an environment where children thrive, families feel supported, and team members love coming to work.

Who You Are

  • Inspires confidence and positivity in others.
  • Balances professionalism with playfulness — you just get kids.
  • Leads with integrity and compassion.
  • Loves collaborating with families and fellow clinicians.
  • Sees potential in every child and joy in every milestone.
What You’ll Do
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and create individualized treatment plans.
  • Assess learners using tools such as VB-MAPP, Vineland, PEAK, ABLLS-R, and SRS-2.
  • Supervise RBTs and trainees (5–10% of RBT hours).
  • Maintain a manageable caseload (6–8 clients) to ensure quality supervision.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentorship to RBTs.
  • Collaborate with parents, SLPs, and other professionals for coordinated care.
  • Attend bi-weekly team check-ins and monthly staff trainings.
  • Ensure timely completion of documentation and progress reports.
Job Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • Current BCBA certification in good standing with the BACB.
  • Minimum 1 year of post-certification experience preferred (will consider strong new BCBAs with clinical experience).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based ABA interventions, assessment tools, and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a passion for mentoring.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work onsite at our Morris, IL clinic.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $80,000 – $105,000 (based on experience)
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 10 paid vacation days, 5 paid sick days, and 11 paid holidays
  • Flexible scheduling and remote workdays for documentation and planning
  • $500 annual CEU stipend + 2 paid CEU days
  • Mentorship and leadership development opportunities
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage
Why You’ll Love UABL
  • BCBA-owned and operated — leadership that truly understands your work
  • Family-oriented culture with genuine work-life balance
  • Flexible scheduling and no nights or weekends
  • Small caseloads focused on quality care, not quotas
  • Opportunities for leadership as we continue to grow
  • A team that values your voice, creativity, and integrity

At UABL, we prioritize people over production. We celebrate collaboration, compassion, and community — because when therapists feel supported, kids flourish.
