Job description

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 30 billable hours per week

D & M’s mission is to help children with autism and their families build the skills, confidence, and daily routines to thrive at home, at school, and in the community.

D & M Behavioral Solutions of Fort Lauderdale, FL is looking to hire a full‑time experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Are you tired of 35 or 40 billable hours and writing reports at midnight? Would you like full‑time to mean 30 billable hours? Do you want time to think about your cases again? If so, please read on!

Join us in leading family‑centered ABA with a caseload you can supervise well and benefits that take care of you.

Why Work at D & M Behavioral Solutions?
  • Competitive Compensation: $80,000 - $105,000 per year, based on your experience, education, and certifications, paid biweekly by direct deposit.
  • Full-Time Stability: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 30 billable hours per week. We build your caseload around your availability and neighborhood.
  • Health and Wellness: Our PreventivePay wellness program gives you 24/7 virtual urgent care, unlimited virtual doctor visits, and ongoing virtual primary care, with no waiting rooms.
  • Mental Health Support: Confidential counseling with licensed mental health counselors, plus unlimited wellness support groups: yoga, sleep coaching, emotional resilience, whole‑body wellness coaching, therapeutic art, grief and loss, managing chronic pain, quitting nicotine, a men’s group, and parenting support for moms.
  • Real Savings: Free acute medications and up to 80% off other prescriptions at 70,000+ pharmacies, and up to 60% off dental care with 263,000+ dentists, where each family member picks their own dentist.
  • Tuition Discount: Through our partnership with Purdue University Global, you and your immediate family (spouse or partner, children, parents, and siblings) save 14% on any graduate program and 20% on any undergraduate program, in fields like psychology and ABA, health sciences, nursing, business, education, human services, and information technology.
  • Bonus: Quarterly bonus.
  • Health Stipend: Monthly health insurance stipend.
  • Balanced Caseload: Full‑time means 30 billable hours per week.
  • CEU Support: Continuing education (CEU) support.
  • Credentialing Support: Payer credentialing handled with you by our operations team.
  • Impactful Work: Help a child say a first word, make a friend, or get through the day with more independence.
A Day in the Life of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

As a BCBA at D & M, you are the clinical leader for your caseload. Your days combine supervision visits and direct work with families, data review on ABA Matrix, and quick check‑ins with your RBTs. Each week you run caregiver training sessions, update programs, and use protected time for documentation, so your reports get written during your workday, not at midnight.

Every month you complete progress reports and authorization packets with help from our operations team, which also handles payer credentialing with you, and you review cases with our Clinical Director. Full‑time means 30 billable hours per week, so you have the time to supervise well, think through your cases, and still have a life outside of work.

What Would You Be Doing?
  • Conducts initial assessments and reassessments within payer timelines.
  • Develops and updates individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans.
  • Supervises RBTs and BCaBAs, including at least 5% of each RBT’s monthly hours, and completes competency assessments.
  • Leads caregiver training using behavioral skills training.
  • Analyzes data and adjusts programs; reviews and co‑signs BCaBA documentation.
  • Prepares progress reports and authorization packets with operations support.
  • Completes documentation in ABA Matrix within 24 hours.
  • Follows the BACB Ethics Code, HIPAA, and D & M policies.
What Do You Bring to the Role?
  • Certification: Current BCBA or BCBA‑D certification in good standing.
  • Certification: Two or more years of post‑certification experience.
  • Education: Master’s degree or higher.
  • Credentialing: Individual NPI and willingness to complete payer credentialing (Medicaid ID and CAQH).
  • Transportation: Valid Florida driver license, reliable car, and auto insurance.
  • Background: Ability to pass a Florida Level 2 background screening.
  • Passion for Children: A genuine love for working with kids and families.
  • Positive Attitude: Patience, reliability, and strong communication with families and teammates.

Do you want a caseload you can actually supervise well? Are you a clear communicator with families, RBTs, and payers? Do you care about data, ethics, and outcomes? Do you want to help build a growing team? If so, you might just be perfect for this BCBA position!

BCBA Success Profile
  • Total Competence in ABA and Program Design: Conducting functional assessments, designing DTT and NET programs, analyzing data, and staying current with the research.
  • Ethics, Integrity, and Client Advocacy: Upholding the BACB Ethics Code and advocating for effective, least restrictive, evidence‑based treatment.
  • Staff Supervision, Training, and Coaching: Training RBTs with Behavioral Skills Training and using the PDC‑HS to find the real cause of performance issues, without micromanaging.
  • Managerial Courage and Performance Feedback: Giving direct, actionable positive and corrective feedback to address procedural drift early.
  • Leadership and Team Motivation: Leading as a coach with a clear vision, genuine enthusiasm, and high rates of positive reinforcement.
  • Parent and Stakeholder Consultation: Translating ABA into clear, jargon‑free language and building rapport with caregivers, schools, and physicians.
  • Persuasion, Influence, and Negotiation: Gaining buy‑in in IEP meetings, authorizations, and interdisciplinary teams without compromising ethics.
  • OBM and Systems Management: Using task clarification, job aids, and feedback loops so high performance is easy for your team.
  • Critical Thinking and Creative Troubleshooting: Asking “Where is the data?” and designing a sound Plan B when an intervention stalls.
  • Time Management and Prioritization: Balancing billable hours, reports, and supervision schedules while focusing on top priorities.
  • Aggressive Curiosity and Ongoing Learning: Asking “Can you show me that?” and observing directly rather than relying on hearsay.
  • Composure and Crisis Management: Staying calm and objective during severe behavior or high‑stakes conflict and applying “Think Function”.
  • Building Trust and Executive Credibility: Keeping Say‑Do consistency and presenting data clearly to leadership and funders.
Physical Requirements:

This role involves working in homes, schools, and community settings, sitting on the floor, bending, kneeling, and engaging in active play during sessions, plus computer work for documentation. Travel between client locations is required.
