Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Learning Beyond The Spectrum is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and clinically skilled Board Certified Behavior Analyst to join our team as a Clinical Supervisor.

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all clinical aspects of treatment for an assigned caseload. Responsibilities include assessing patient strengths and support needs, developing individualized treatment plans, monitoring treatment implementation, analyzing patient progress, collaborating with caregivers and other professionals, and providing ongoing supervision and coaching to Behavior Technicians.

Treatment plans primarily address areas of medical necessity and may be implemented in the patient’s home, school, community, clinic, or through telehealth when clinically appropriate.

Clinical Supervisors report to the Clinical Director. This position may be structured as either full-time or part-time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment and Treatment Planning
  • Use sound clinical judgment to promote meaningful and socially significant outcomes for each patient
  • Conduct individualized assessments to identify patient strengths, skill-development needs, and barriers to participation
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessments
  • Assess challenging behavior and develop hypotheses regarding behavioral function
  • Develop individualized, functionally relevant, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Develop treatment goals that address medical necessity while supporting patient dignity, autonomy, communication, and quality of life
  • Review and update treatment plans based on patient response, clinical data, and changing needs
  • Remain current on evidence-based and neurodiversity-affirming practices within Applied Behavior Analysis
Treatment Oversight and Data Analysis
  • Observe treatment sessions to evaluate patient progress and identify opportunities for program revision
  • Monitor treatment integrity and the implementation of clinical protocols
  • Summarize and analyze data to evaluate progress toward treatment goals
  • Modify treatment protocols based on clinical data, patient response, caregiver input, and professional judgment
  • Ensure treatment recommendations remain individualized, appropriate, and clinically necessary
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the patient’s electronic medical record and applicable clinical systems
Staff Supervision and Development
  • Direct Behavior Technicians in the implementation of new and revised treatment protocols
  • Provide ongoing coaching, modeling, feedback, and clinical training to Behavior Technicians
  • Support staff in developing strong clinical judgment, professional communication, and compassionate treatment practices
  • Monitor staff performance and treatment implementation while maintaining a supportive and solution-focused supervisory relationship
  • Collaborate with leadership regarding staff development, patient needs, scheduling concerns, and barriers to treatment
Caregiver Collaboration and Coordination of Care
  • Include caregivers as active and valued members of the treatment team
  • Provide caregiver education, coaching, and collaborative problem-solving
  • Communicate patient progress and treatment response accurately, clearly, and compassionately
  • Coordinate care with schools, physicians, therapists, and other professionals when appropriate and authorized
  • Participate in treatment-planning meetings, IEP meetings, peer reviews, funding reviews, and other care-coordination meetings as needed
  • Communicate with funding sources in a professional, collaborative, thorough, and informative manner
Professional and Ethical Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, caregivers, colleagues, and community partners
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for patients, families, and team members
  • Protect patient dignity, privacy, assent, and confidentiality
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, BACB ethical requirements, organizational policies, payer requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Complete documentation and administrative responsibilities within required timelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, education, or a related field
  • Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Experience supporting autistic individuals and individuals with other developmental disabilities
  • Strong understanding of functional assessment, skill acquisition, behavior-reduction programming, caregiver training, and staff supervision
  • Ability to exercise independent clinical judgment and solve problems effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization, time-management, and caseload-management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining a positive, professional, and solution-focused approach

  • Willingness to provide services in a variety of locations and work with patients with diverse support needs
  • Reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance when travel is required
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background and health screenings, including tuberculosis clearance
Work Environment

Services may occur in a variety of environments, including patients’ homes, schools, community locations, the clinic, and through telehealth when clinically appropriate.

This position includes both remote and in-person responsibilities. The amount of remote work available will depend on clinical needs, patient location, scheduling, job performance, and organizational requirements.

Clinical Supervisors may travel between service locations during the workday and may work in both indoor and outdoor environments.

The Clinical Supervisor must be able to:

  • Work with patients who may be seated on the floor, in child-sized chairs, or in other home, school, clinic, and community environments
  • Frequently move throughout the treatment environment to gather materials, provide instruction, and respond to patient movement
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, sit on the floor, stand, reach, and transition between positions throughout the workday
  • Maintain visual awareness of patients and relevant environmental conditions
  • Respond promptly to safety concerns, including blocking access to unsafe areas or preventing a patient from entering a hazardous environment
  • Move away from or safely respond to aggressive or unsafe behavior when necessary
  • Occasionally bear the weight of a patient who is leaning, pushing, or requiring assistance
  • Clearly model vocal communication and listen carefully to patient communication attempts
  • Model gross- and fine-motor skills when clinically appropriate
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions when services occur in natural community or school environments
  • Lift and carry up to 30 pounds

Compensation: Starting at $75,000 per year for full-time employment, plus performance-based bonus opportunities. Part-time compensation will be determined based on schedule, experience, and responsibilities.
