Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or ME.
• 36 months of eng. R&D or new product dev experience in automotive or aerospace.
• Experience in battery management systems (BMS) simulation.
• Experience with SIL, HIL testing and test automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate BMS simulation modeling with team members and SMEs across Battery Engineering.
• Define simulation requirements with stakeholders.
• Create reduced order models for BMS simulations.
• Manage and maintain multiple fidelity model libraries related to battery simulations.
• Analyze simulation data to generate performance reports and actionable insights.
• Implement continuous improvements to models to stay aligned with industry standards.
• Develop intuitive diagnostic interfaces for controllers to facilitate troubleshooting.
• Validate simulation model performance and identify/resolved errors through testing.
• Create test cases for unit, SIL, and HIL tests.
• Assist in execution of BMS verification test plans and test automation.
• Execute SIL and HIL system tests under various conditions.
• Simulate normal and abnormal operation modes of the battery.
• Support simulation test infrastructure for BMS verification.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and coordinate BMS simulation modeling with individual team members and subject matter experts across Battery Engineering and its teammates/partners.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define simulation requirements.
• Create reduced order models to implement the functionality of complex physical plant models for BMS simulation.
• Manage and maintain multiple fidelity model libraries related to battery and battery controls simulations for internal customer team deliveries.
• Analyze simulation data to generate performance reports and metrics, provide clear, actionable insights on expected vs actual system behaviors.
• Implement continuous improvements to the models to ensure they remain accurate, reliable, and aligned with industry standards and customer expectations.
• Develop intuitive diagnostic interfaces for controllers to facilitate troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Validate simulation model performance, efficiency, accuracy, and stability, as well as identify and resolve any errors, faults, or failures through testing and data analysis.
• Create test cases and scripts to validate features in unit test, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments.
• Assist in the execution of BMS software verification test plans and test automation.
• Execute SIL and HIL system tests under various conditions and scenarios.
• Simulate the normal and abnormal operation modes of the battery.
• Support simulation test infrastructure for BMS verification as a mission-critical system.

Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Experience Requirements: Controls Engineer, Software Engineer or related job title in which 36 months of experience in engineering R&D or new product development in automotive or aerospace industries was gained.

At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business. For this position we are offering $161,390 to $169,459.50 per year. #LI-DNI
