Scope of Position:

As a BMS Field Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for a team member who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and customer focused. You will work on solving increasingly complex problems and assist in the training and development of less experienced Field Engineers.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
2. Serve as local contact for technical issues and leader in the field.
3. Offer effective solutions for increasingly complex system issues.
4. Provide turnkey project delivery on small to medium projects.
5. Responsible for ensuring that systems operate properly, to include controls, sensors, and software.
6. Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
7. Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
8. Communicate and document the status and details of the project for the customer.
9. Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

Required Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. 2+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field.
3. Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
4. Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Ability for scheduled travel 35% of the time.
2. Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
3. Experience with building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing increasingly complex building automation controls.
4. Basic knowledge of navigating and integrating into a variety of building automation systems.
5. Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.
6. Proficient in the use of an electrical multi-meter.
7. Good understanding of common HVAC systems such as RTUs, air handlers, VAV boxes, Chillers, Boilers.
8. Ability to read and understand HVAC mechanical prints.
9. Ability to check out/commission common HVAC controls devices such as sensors, valves, damper motors, relays.
