The BMS Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for executing functional testing and validation of Building Management Systems (BMS) within a data center environment. This role ensures that all environmental control systems are operating according to project specifications prior to final handover in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional testing of Building Management Systems (BMS) in a data center environment.
• Perform point-to-point verification and validation of control sequences.
• Verify proper operation of temperature, humidity, airflow, and other critical environmental sensors.
• Confirm correct integration between HVAC equipment and BMS platforms.
• Document test results and ensure systems meet project specifications and performance criteria.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and support resolution of system issues during commissioning.
• Coordinate required adjustments or corrective actions with engineering and technical teams.
• Ensure all control points are fully operational prior to final project turnover.
• Support final acceptance testing and client validation activities.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in commissioning or startup of BMS systems, preferably in data center or mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of HVAC control systems, environmental sensors, and BMS communication protocols.
• Ability to follow pre-existing documentation and execute standardized commissioning procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams.
• Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced data center environment.
• Must be fluent in English (written and verbal).

Education

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field OR equivalent hands-on experience in BMS commissioning, controls systems, or data center infrastructure environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with major BMS platforms (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell).
• Familiarity with data center critical infrastructure and redundancy concepts.
• Commissioning or controls-related certifications are a plus.
