Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to spearhead our automated testing efforts. The position is part of the In‑Space Systems business unit, focused on space infrastructure and mobility on‑orbit. The successful candidate will design, develop, and implement automated testing frameworks using Python, and lead a team of testers.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
- Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to understand project and testing requirements.
- Implement testing strategies to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Analyze test results, identify trends, and report findings to development teams.
- Continuously improve test automation processes and frameworks.
- Ensure robust test coverage across all application components.
- Periodically support testing events on second shift.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience with spacecraft/satellite test development and/or execution, hardware ownership, or hardware qualification and/or acceptance testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in test automation using Python.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, etc.).
- Experience with requirements verification.
- Experience using Docker or containerized environments.
- Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, C++.
- Hands‑on experience conducting tests in a lab setting.
- Experience in a lead role or managing a test team.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing.
- Knowledge of performance testing and security testing.
- Experience in agile development environments.
- Holding a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance if requested.
Compensation
Base Pay Range for WA applicants is $134,961.00 – $188,945.40. Other site ranges may differ.

- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation.
- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre‑employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical.
