Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Blood Collection Supervisor in Portland, OR. Lead the blood collection team, ensure excellent donor experiences, and drive for results with a strong emphasis on staff respect and service quality.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent mix of education and experience, plus at least three years of supervisory work, and a valid driver’s license. The role may involve variable schedules and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR a combination of education and work experience (four to eight years of work experience) is required.
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
  • A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.

Team up with your co-workers to keep our donors coming back again and again***Standard Schedule: (Portland, Oregon)**** To best meet the needs of our donors and community, staff work a variable schedule which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Overnight travel may be required in some locations.* Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance***Pay Information:**** Starting salary $66.220/year. Pay may increase depending on experience**WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):*** Bachelor’s degree OR a combination of education and work experience (four to eight years of work experience in a related field) is required* Minimum of three years of supervisory/leadership experience* Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required. An ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families and physicians needed.* A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.* Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes are required. Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.* At the American Red Cross, we conduct many mobile blood drives at businesses, schools and many other locations.
