Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in College Station, TX, seeks a Med Lab Scientist 3 for the Transfusion department on a day shift (Mon–Fri, 6am–2:30pm). Requires ASCP MLS certification or equivalent with at least 4 years in blood bank.

You will perform and supervise a full range of laboratory tests, ensure quality control, maintain equipment, and report results accurately while collaborating with laboratory staff.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• ASCP MLS certification or equivalent generalist with blood bank experience.
• Minimum 4 years blood bank experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests in compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follows quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Performs instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Accurately reports test results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication with laboratory personnel and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory beliefs and technical skills to others.
