Job summary

Tekgence Inc. is seeking a hands-on backend software engineer with expertise in cryptography, blockchain, and cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will work on secure backend systems for digital assets and wallets, with strong Rust skills and openness to related languages such as C++, Go, or others.

The role favors candidates with MPC, secure key management, and experience with Bitcoin/Ethereum ecosystems, and requires onsite work 4+ days per week in New York City or Pittsburgh.

Job description

• Hands-on backend software engineering experience with strong knowledge of cryptography, encryption, and cybersecurity.
• Experience working on digital assets, blockchain, cryptocurrency, or cybersecurity teams is highly preferred.
• Strong experience with Rust programming language is highly preferred. Open to candidates with C++, C, Go, or other programming languages.
• Experience developing backend systems for digital asset wallets, blockchain platforms, or financial technology applications.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic protocols, public key encryption, digital signatures, and secure software development.
• Experience working with blockchain technologies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
• Hands-on experience with Multi-Party Computation (MPC) for digital signatures and secure key management.
• Knowledge of CGGMP21, CGGMP24, DKLs23, or similar cryptographic protocols is a strong plus.
• Experience with MPC frameworks or implementations such as Coinbase MPC and Lockness (Rust-based) is preferred.
• Knowledge of Trusted Execution Environments (TEE), Intel SGX, and Trusted Enclaves is a big plus.
• Ability to use cryptographic libraries and protocols securely, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity and threat monitoring.
• Experience working in a greenfield engineering environment, building a new team and designing solutions from scratch.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to bring new ideas, propose technical solutions, and contribute to architecture and system design.
• Experience working with secure backend services, key management, encryption, and security-sensitive applications.
• 3+ years of blockchain experience is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s or PhD in Mathematics or similar is a plus.
• Willingness to work onsite 4+ days per week in New York City or Pittsburgh.
