Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor in Missouri to prepare returns, interview clients, and identify tax savings opportunities.

The role emphasizes building lasting client relationships with strong training and an incentive plan, in-person at a local Block Advisors office. You will handle complex individual and business returns, provide IRS support, and work with a team to maintain a client-focused office environment while staying compliant with IRS/state

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience working in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

As a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor, you are a trusted advisor who helps clients navigate complex tax and business services situations with confidence. Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credentials
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
• Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
