Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare accurate tax returns for clients with personal and business needs in Allentown, PA.

You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and offer Block Advisors products with the support of industry-leading training and technology. You will build lasting client relationships through empathetic, consultative service, deliver clear tax guidance, and collaborate with teammates to maintain a client-focused local

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience working in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Must complete continuing education and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

About the Role

As a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor, you are a trusted advisor who helps clients navigate complex tax and business services situations with confidence. You'll use your expertise to prepare accurate returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships — backed by industry-leading training and technology, a competitive hourly rate, and an incentive plan that rewards your impact as you build your tax expertise and serve clients. This role is in-person at a local Block Advisors office.

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA), or other IRS Circular 230 credentials
• Familiarity with GoSystem or Ultratax software
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT)
• Experience in a consultative or advisory client relationship role (financial advising, insurance, or professional services)
