Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is hiring a Plant Operator (Blender) in Durham, NC. The role fills and handles compressed and liquefied gas cylinders, adheres to safety standards, and troubleshoots production issues.

Responsibilities include inspections, labeling, and safe operation of pumps and compressors. The position requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience or training, with forklift certification and strong teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Ability to operate forklift and maintain forklift certifications.
• Aptitude for high precision work.

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership of daily responsibilities in a safe manner according to SOPs.
• Thorough pre-fill and post-fill inspections on cylinders and/or trailers.
• Scraping, labeling and painting of cylinders; safely maneuvering cylinders with cart or forklift.
• Review SDS for products entering the facility; follow SOPs and Safety Management System.
• Maintain accurate fill sheets and cylinder filling records.
• Operate and support vacuum, cryogenic, booster pumps and compressors.
• Offload cryogenic materials and perform related transfer filling.
• Understand DOT permits and applicability to fill process.
• Identify international cylinders and handling requirements.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and orderly environment; support team initiatives.
