Job summary

Qualifications

  • Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.; Stand for extended periods; Work in dust; Work in confined spaces; Work in extreme temperatures.
  • Obtain Fork Lift Certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Blending Operations: Complete tasks as they are assigned by Blending Lead.
  • Blending Operations: Clearly communicate with team to ensure ingredient accuracy.
  • Blending Operations: Ensure all paperwork is filled out timely and accurately.
  • Blending Operations: Ensure housekeeping is maintained in production areas and warehouse.
  • Warehouse Operations: Assist in daily scheduled production across areas for efficient processing.
  • Warehouse Operations: Label products with product number/name/lot/date and other requirements.
  • Warehouse Operations: Ensure correct ingredients are used and inventory is monitored.
  • Warehouse Operations: Coordinate excess ingredients with Warehouse Manager for reporting.
  • Safety: Adhere to all aspects of the Company’s Safety Program.
  • Safety: Identify and report hazards to Blend Lead or Plant Manager.
  • Safety: Timely report accidents or near misses as required by Safety Program.
  • Quality: Adhere to all Quality Assurance standards.
  • Quality: Ensure products are stored to maintain quality.
  • Quality: Recognize deviations and report to supervisor to minimize rejects.
  • General Responsibilities: Perform project work or other duties as assigned by Blend Lead or Plant Manager.
  • General Responsibilities: Adhere to Safety, Hygiene and good housekeeping policies; cooperate with duties; report hazards; demonstrate teamwork.

Blend Line Operator
Purpose of Position

The primary function of this role is to be a part of the Blending Team to produce Pre‑Blended flours that are a direct inclusion into our customers Pet Food production lines. Operators must be actively engaged to ensure that all line work is based around accuracy and efficiency, ensuring that all ingredient inclusions are correct.

Responsibilities
Blending Operations
  • Complete tasks as they are assigned by Blending Lead
  • Clearly communicate with all members of the team to ensure accuracy of ingredients
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out timely and accurately
  • Ensure general housekeeping is completed for production areas and warehouse
Warehouse Operations
  • Assist in daily scheduled production in all areas, ensuring the processing work is performed in an efficient & productive manner
  • Label products according to standards (Product Number, Product Name, Lot, Date, and other requirements)
  • Ensure correct ingredients are being used during the production, monitoring inventory on hand
  • Coordinate excess ingredients that remain after production runs with the Warehouse Manager for inventory reporting
Safety
  • Adhere to all aspects of the Company’s Safety Program
  • Where trained, proactively identify and report to Blend Lead or Plant Manager possible safety hazards
  • Timely, report accidents or near miss incidents as required by the Safety Program
Quality
  • Adhere to all Quality Assurance standards
  • Ensure all products are stored in the conditions necessary to maintain quality
  • Ensure that products being produced meet all agreed quality standards and quickly recognize and report to supervisor any deviations from these standards minimizing rejects
General Responsibilities
  • Project work or items outside of this Job Description, as specified from time to time by the Blend Lead or Plant Manager
  • Required to adhere to the Company’s policies on Safety, Hygiene and good housekeeping. Specifically:
    • To take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and that of other persons who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions;
    • To co‑operate regarding any duty or requirement;
    • To report to his/her immediate manager any hazard which may be discovered on at the place of work;
