Delphinus Engineering LLC seeks skilled spray painters with shipyard experience in Kittery, ME. Candidates must hold C-12/C-14 spray certifications and be capable of abrasive blasting prep, tinting coatings, and handling lead paint waste under OSHA and Naval Shipyard procedures.

Applicants should have at least four years of verifiable experience, be able to obtain yellow badge or higher, and lift up to 50 lbs while wearing full-face respirators. PACNORWEST local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coating materials by tinting, toning, matching, blending, & mixing additives for tanks, voids, bilges, passageways and surfaces.
• Perform needle gunning, sanding (hand or mechanical) to prepare surfaces for painting.
• Ensure environmental compliance when applying and disposing of paint and waste.
• Meet safety requirements under OSHA, Naval Shipyard procedures, and SSPC/NACE standards.
• Provide capability to lift 50 lbs and operate full-face respirators as required.

Position Specific Requirements

• Employee shall be certified as a C-12 air sprayer and C-14 airless sprayer (NACE/NBPI; SSPC standards).


• Capable of preparing coating materials by tinting, toning, matching, blending, & mixing in various additives such as catalysts, drying agents, & retardants for: tanks, voids, bilges, passageways, machinery/propulsion spaces, interior bulkheads & exterior surfaces with the proper applications with brushes or rollers, for the paint millage required by written technical direction.


• Experience required needle gunning, hand or mechanical sanding to prepare the surface for final painting.


• Sprayer and Touch-up Painter shall meet environmental requirements to acquire, apply, remove and dispose of paint, paint waste or residuals & Lead Paint waste in accordance with OSHA requirements, federal & state laws, & Naval Shipyard procedures. Paint applied shall be free of paint discontinuities, for example: skips, runs, & drips.


• Employee shall be certified as a C-7 blaster (NACE/NBPI; SSPC standards).


• Capable of performing duties associated with abrasive blasting operations for surface preparation of interior and exterior tanks, engine room and interior compartments and MIP/SHT sites.


• Must be able to provide current certifications.


• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.


• Must be able to wear and operate full face / forced air respirators.

Position Specifics

• Up to 6 days per week 10 hours per day


• Looking for local personnel in the PACNORWEST area

Wage Range

$28.07 - $33.07 per hour

• In determining compensation, various factors will be considered, including but not limited to, educational background; relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, market factors; and geographic location.
