Responsibilities

• Support the blast crew and participate in tailgate safety meetings.
• Work at a steady to fast pace and on Saturdays when required.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

We are hiring for Blast Helpers to join our team in Boise, ID. This position will primarily help assist the blast crew with the loading and unloading of explosives from the trucks. Blast Helpers will be responsible for carrying buckets of crushed stone to stem blast holes. Our ideal candidate will be physically fit and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, the candidate lives within the Boise, ID region.

McCallum Rock Drilling (MRD) is a rock drilling and blasting contractor based out of Chehalis, WA, that has been in business since 1988. MRD operates in commercial quarries, timberlands and construction sites throughout the Western US.

Minimum responsibilities and qualifications include:

• Follows all MRD safety policies and procedures
• Ability to listen and take direction from the Lead Blaster on site
• Load and unload packaged ANFO, blasting caps, and boosters from the truck
• Assist with carrying buckets of gravel for stemming purposes
  
• Participate in daily tailgate meetings
• Ability to work at a steady to fast pace
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
• Must successfully pass criminal background check
• At least 1-2 years of prior construction/mining experience preferred
• Ability to work Saturdays

Hourly Rate: $21.00 - $23.00
