Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; 5+ years aviation/aerospace experience.
  • Solid background in continuous improvement methodologies and Lean Sigma.
  • Knowledge of Safran M3 management system and processes.
  • Fundamental budgeting and performance management knowledge.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency; Microsoft Project preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Project management responsibilities include delivering every project on time within budget and scope. Project leaders should have a technical background as well as be skilled in business management, budgeting and analysis. Must have solid background in continuous improvement methodologies and practice – monitoring and improving organizational processes to ensure maximum efficiency. Excellent research and analysis skills to ensure that workflows are mapped and to remove waste and low-value activities – recommending best practice solutions. Guided by formal kaizen methodologies, incumbent must take the lead in implementing changes, acting as a leader and mentor throughout different areas of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setting boundaries of the project with the help of the project sponsor
  • Implement the structure of the project management (especially the decision-making body – ie Steering Committee)
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Implementing ambitious improvement projects using methods such as Lean Sigma
  • Supervise projects led by Green Belts (or BB if MBB) and develop their skills
  • Coordinate internal and external resources for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and stretch to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Analyze existing business processes using various methods such as gap analysis or PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) to allow o find opportunities for improvement as well as losses, which then perform troubleshooting to further determine root causes.
  • Act as internal consultants developing short- and long-term strategies for the organization and incorporating Six Sigma and other practices. The goal is to facilitate progress and reduce costs, both in terms of sales and workflow inefficiencies.
  • A crucial aspect of the continuous improvement methodology is monitoring progress.
