Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown seeks a professional Registered Nurse to provide inpatient nursing care with independent judgment and adherence to the nursing process.

The RN will modify care plans, apply evidence-based practices, delegate tasks, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a wide interprofessional team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license required or active license in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Modifies patient’s plan of care based on data collection and patient’s individual needs.
• Uses Evidence-Based Practice to provide patient care.
• Delegates according to scope of practice.
• Verifies the plan of care with interprofessional colleagues, patient, and caregiver(s).
• Provides education based on learning needs and involvement of family.
• Promotes effective communication among interprofessional team members and healthcare consumers.
• Engages in continuous quality improvement and policy evaluation to enhance patient care.
