Job summary

Helping Hearts in Birmingham, AL is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides (HHA) and Personal Care Assistants (PCA) to provide in-home support to seniors and individuals needing daily living assistance.

Flexible day and night shifts are available, with 4–12 hour options. Dementia care experience is strongly preferred, and applicants with open availability and reliable transportation are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous HHA/PCA caregiving experience.
• Dementia care experience preferred.
• Open and flexible availability for day, night, weekend, and extended shifts.
• Compassion, patience, reliability, and strong communication.
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Relevant certifications and employment documents required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
• Provide mobility assistance, transfers, and fall prevention.
• Support clients living with dementia.
• Offer companionship, reassurance, and emotional support.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor clients’ well-being.
• Assist with blood sugar monitoring when trained and authorized.
• Report changes in clients’ health or behavior.
• Provide transportation to appointments and errands when needed.

Helping Hearts is seeking compassionate, dependable, and experienced HHAs and PCAs to provide quality in-home care to seniors and individuals who need assistance with daily living.

Flexible availability is required, including day, night, weekend, and extended shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours. We strongly encourage candidates with open availability and dementia care experience to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.

• Provide mobility assistance, transfers, and fall prevention.

• Support clients living with dementia and memory-related conditions.
