Job summary

Vanguard-IP in Washington, DC, seeks a patent prosecutor attorney to join its biotech-focused IP practice. You will represent patent owners and petitioners at PTAB and ITC matters, leveraging a strong IP and patent-law foundation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active U.S. license to practice law.
• Eligible to waive into the DC Bar or sit for the DC bar exam.
• Master’s degree (preferably) in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, organic chemistry, molecular genetics, human genetics, antibodies, immunology, or related field.
• Experience practicing patent prosecution at a law firm.
• USPTO registration number or eligible for registration.
• Strong foundation in IP and patent law; stellar academics.
• Previous wet lab experience preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

• JD and actively licensed as an attorney in a U.S. jurisdiction.


• Must be eligible to waive into the D.C. Bar or be willing and eligible to sit for the D.C. bar exam.


• Master’s degree (PhD preferred) focused on molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, organic chemistry, molecular genetics, human genetics, antibodies, immunology, or related scientific discipline


• Experience practicing patent prosecution at another law firm


• USPTO registration number


• A strong foundation in IP and patent law


• The ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and concisely


• Previous wet lab experience preferred
