Lonza Group Ltd. in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Biotechnologist III (Nights) to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on operating and maintaining production processes, with a nights rotation and shift differentials.

Initial 1-week training on day shift supports a smooth transition. You will perform bioreactor inoculation and chromatography tasks, document results, and participate in training plans while adhering to cGMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AS/BS in a Scientific Field preferred
• Manufacturing experience; cGMP setting preferred or bio-pharma exposure
• Comfortable running Chromatography skids and columns, UF/DF skids and filtration
• Strong written and verbal communication; decision-making and critical thinking
• Adaptability to changing priorities; open to feedback and action
• Ability to wear required PPE throughout shift

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment, be responsible for production processes and report production in documents
• Demonstrate expertise in production activities and lab tasks such as bioreactor inoculation and chromatography column operation
• Understand the scientific theory behind these operations
• Complete administrative tasks including shift exchanges, meetings, emails, deviations and document changes
• Attain qualification for all tasks and maintain a training plan
• Perform material movements and transfer raw materials and chemicals across production areas

The Night shift schedule is from 7pm-7am, on a rotational schedule every other week: Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday Shift differentials are included for nights and weekends worked Initial 1-week training period on day shift working Monday - Friday for the first week.

What you will do:

• Operate and maintain equipment, be responsible for production processes, and report production in written and electronic documents.
• Demonstrate expertise in suite-specific production activities and lab tasks such as bioreactor inoculation and chromatography column operation.
• Understand the scientific theory behind these operations.
• Complete administrative tasks including attending shift exchanges, meetings, sending/receiving emails, participating in projects, and technical writing (deviations, document change forms, etc.).
• Attain qualification for all assigned tasks and maintain an individual training plan.
• Perform material movements, transfer raw materials, and chemicals into, out of, and across the production areas, and other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; AS/BS in a Scientific Field preferred.
• Confirmed working experience in manufacturing; cGMP setting preferred, and/or some experience in the bio-pharma industry.
• Comfortable running Chromatography skids and columns, UF/DF skids and utilizing various forms of filtration
• Demonstrated logic and decision-making abilities, along with critical thinking skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptability to changing business priorities, being open to feedback, and the ability to translate that feedback into action.
• Ability to wear required PPE throughout shift.
