Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Sr Associate Supply Chain I (Procurement) in North Carolina to join the Supply Chain team reporting to the Sr Manager, Procurement. You will drive cross-functional initiatives, manage material procurement, inventory, lead times and supplier relationships to support a robust supply chain that delivers medicines to patients.

Qualifications

• High school/GED + 4 years of Supply Chain/Procurement work experience
• Associates + 2 years of Supply Chain/Procurement work experience
• Bachelors + 6 months of Supply Chain/Procurement work experience
• Master's degree in a related field
• Degree in math, science, or engineering
• Strong analytical, data science, and optimization skills
• Experience with SAP, Rapid Response, Excel or comparable

Responsibilities

• Procure materials using SAP, Rapid Response and other systems and optimize inventory levels
• Generate purchase orders, blanket orders and vendor-managed inventory
• Develop raw material inventory plans and manage material transitions
• Maintain purchasing documentation to cGMP standards
• Monitor and revise inventory levels with demand/supply changes
• Release forecasts and orders to suppliers and analyze supply for stakeholders
• Define and own business processes for inventory handling (e.g., Kanban)
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to prevent inventory shortages
• Lead small team projects and analyze data to improve performance
• Track monthly metrics for adherence, accuracy and cycle times
• Interact with Manufacturing, Process Development and Engineering on specs
• Lead changes in ownership of GMP materials, systems and suppliers
• Handle receipt scheduling and testing of materials
