The Wilmington, DE office of BCG Attorney Search seeks an Intellectual Property Associate with at least 2 years of biotechnology patent experience to handle life sciences matters for a diverse client base, including Fortune 50 companies and innovative startups.

The role involves preparing and prosecuting patent applications, performing FTO and due diligence, and advising clients on portfolio development and enforcement, within a collaborative, entrepreneurial team.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a patent attorney in biotechnology.
• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biological sciences.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO in good standing.
• Admission to at least one State bar.
• Prior law firm experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the life sciences sector.
• Conduct freedom-to-operate, IP due diligence, infringement, validity, and patent landscape searches and analyses.
• Advise clients on patent issues throughout the product lifecycle, including strategic consultation, portfolio management, and patent enforcement.
• Collaborate with clients, colleagues, the USPTO, and foreign associates regarding domestic and international patent prosecution matters.
• Contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that supports professional growth and client service excellence.
