Job summary

Maimonides Medical Center seeks a Biostatistician I to join the MRC/Office of Biostatistics, applying statistical methods to support resident and fellow physicians and to design small-scale studies that improve patient care and advance medical knowledge.

You will collaborate with clinical teams, draft analytic plans, conduct power calculations, analyze data, and provide statistical guidance while mentoring residents on methods and software use.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in biostatistics or related fields with exposure to clinical research or healthcare data analysis.
• Proficiency in R, SAS, or SPSS; familiarity with clinical data management systems is a plus.
• Experience conducting power and sample size calculations for clinical or biomedical studies.
• Strong understanding of statistical methodologies (regression, survival analysis, hypothesis testing).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical teams to provide statistical support for research projects.
• Draft and review research protocols focusing on statistical design and data collection methods.
• Perform sample size and power calculations and adjust study plans based on statistical guidance.
• Analyze data from small-scale studies and prepare statistical reports and visualizations.
• Provide statistical consultation to clinical staff regarding data interpretation and methods.
• Educate residents and fellows on statistical principles and software use.
