Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Health & Safety (Biosafety Focus) based in Ewing, New Jersey to shape biosafety programs across BSL-1 to BSL-3 environments, partnering with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, research and high‑tech clients to design and run high‑performing safety systems that enable innovation while protecting people and operations.

You will lead audits, develop training, support Institutional Biosafety Committees, and drive continuous improvement while mentoring consultants,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biosafety, Microbiology, Biology, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of EHS experience with biosafety leadership in BSL-1/BSL-2 labs
• Experience with BSL-3 program oversight or governance is highly preferred
• Experience developing and managing biosafety and Health & Safety programs
• Experience serving on Institutional Biosafety Committees (IBCs) with protocol review familiarity
• 2+ years in a consulting or client-facing role
• Strong communication and influencing skills for diverse stakeholders
• Willingness to travel up to 70%
• Not eligible for immigration sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic biosafety leadership across complex laboratory environments
• Design and operationalize integrated biosafety and Health & Safety systems aligned to business goals
• Partner with senior stakeholders to strengthen governance, compliance, and risk management
• Lead program implementation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build organizational capability through training, coaching, and culture development
• Drive project delivery excellence while expanding client relationships and contributing to ERM’s growth
