Lytos Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Bioprocessing Technician to support upstream and downstream manufacturing activities. You will operate bioprocessing equipment, prepare media and process solutions, and collect samples, working closely with the Lead Scientist/Researcher to ensure safe, consistent execution of procedures.

This on-site role runs 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with potential for schedule changes including weekends or holidays.

Our work ranges from R&D work to pilot scale manufacturing.

About the position

Lytos Technologies is seeking a Bioprocessing Technician to support the company’s manufacturing and bioprocessing activities. This hands-on role will support upstream and downstream processing, operation of bioprocessing equipment, preparation of process materials, sampling and testing, and routine process activities. The Technician will work closely with the Lead Scientist/Researcher to ensure processes are executed safely, consistently, and according to established procedures.

The Bioprocessing Technician is required to work on-site from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, the schedule is subject to change based on company needs and may include, but is not limited to, weekends, holidays, and hours outside of standard business hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and clean bioreactors and associated bioprocessing equipment.
  • Execute upstream and downstream processing activities, including homogenization, filtration, centrifugation, and other unit operations.
  • Prepare media, buffers, process solutions, and other materials required for manufacturing activities.
  • Collect, label, and prepare process samples for testing and analysis.
  • Monitor critical process parameters and accurately record process data and observations.
  • Follow established SOPs, batch records, and work instructions to support consistent and reproducible manufacturing operations.
  • Assist with process development, optimization, and scale-up activities as directed by the Manufacturing and R&D teams.
  • Identify and communicate equipment issues, process deviations, or other operational concerns to appropriate team members.
  • Support basic troubleshooting of equipment and process-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate GMP-compliant documentation, batch records, equipment logs, and other manufacturing records.
  • Assist with equipment setup, cleaning, maintenance, qualification, and validation activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing and laboratory environment.
  • Follow all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Scientist/Researcher to support day-to-day operations and company projects.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support Lytos Technologies’ manufacturing and research activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience with basic laboratory techniques, including sample preparation, filtration, centrifugation, and solution/media preparation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in GMP-regulated or GMP-like environments.
  • 1+ years of experience in bioprocessing, biotechnology, biomanufacturing, or related industries.
  • Hands-on experience with bioreactors, fermenters, or downstream processing equipment.
  • Experience with scale-up and technology transfer.
  • Knowledge of fermentation manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with automation and process control systems.

Salary Range
  • Competitive compensation package with benefits, commensurate with education, skills and experience, which is expected to be in the range $35,000 to $60,000.
