Job summary

MSD in De Soto, KS is seeking a Specialist Bioprocess Engineer to support vaccine technology transfers, coordinate readiness at receiving sites, and help maintain stable process performance across upstream, downstream, and fill‑finish operations.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development and Regulatory teams to draft compliant documentation, implement risk mitigation, and contribute to knowledge management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in biopharmaceutical, antigen, or vaccine manufacturing, bioprocess engineering, process development, or technology transfer.
• Working knowledge of upstream, downstream, fill-finish and lyophilization bioprocessing operations; understanding of process parameters.

Responsibilities

• Support vaccine technology transfers by preparing inputs, coordinating readiness, and assisting during execution at receiving sites.
• Contribute to technical risk assessments and mitigation plans prior to transfer runs.
• Support cross-functional technical workstreams that enable transfer success and improved performance.
• Maintain knowledge management for assigned processes with transfer packages and lessons learned.
• Assist with post-transfer robustness through monitoring, troubleshooting, and investigations.
• Deliver training materials and onboarding as assigned; draft/review protocols and reports.
