Job summary

Kyowa Kirin North America is seeking a Maintenance & Utility Technician II to support maintenance operations at our biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Sanford, NC. The role requires knowledge of GMP and experience in a regulated environment, focusing on reliable operation of critical systems and a compliant production space.

You will collaborate with process engineers, QA, and manufacturing staff, maintain accurate audit-ready records, and contribute to safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
• Completion of the BioWork certification program with the NC Community College system is considered a plus.
• 2-4 years relevant maintenance experience; GMP/regulatory environment preferred.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments, manage priorities, and deliver measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on bioprocessing equipment (bioreactors, centrifuges, filtration units).
• Maintain and service boilers, chillers, air compressors, WFI water systems, HVAC, and other utilities.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform timely repairs.
• Maintain records for audits in compliance with GMP and FDA regulations.
• Support start-up, commissioning, and turnover of new systems.
