Job summary

Blue Water Thinking has an opening for a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support medical devices at VA Fargo Health Care under direct supervision. The role involves daily record keeping, data reporting, and handling devices from TV, TUG, Med-gas projects to new EKGs and upgrades.

The right candidate will have an associate degree or equivalent military training, 5+ years hospital maintenance experience, knowledge of regulatory and ISO standards, and proficiency with test equipment.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on medical equipment.
• Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with setup and application of test equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.
• Minimum five years of hospital/healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical device support under direct supervision.
• Maintain daily records and data reporting for daily work schedule.
• Assist with new devices, installations, upgrades and inventory management.
• Support CERNER electronic health record integration and asset tracking.

Job Description

Provide medical device support, such as corrective action, preventive maintenance under direct supervision. Responsible for daily record keeping and data reporting related to daily work schedule. New devices coming in. ( TV project, TUG project, Med-gas project, new EKGs, Philips upgrade, Anes cart upgrade, new beds, Dialysis pumps inventory management), CERNER.

Basic Qualifications

The Contractor key personnel shall meet one of the following basic qualifications, regardless of role in the services provided under this contract:

• Experience within a medical center and Biomedical Engineering department
• OR, Experience working in or with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)
• OR, Understanding of VISN, VA medical center, and Biomedical Engineering department operations

Role Specific Qualifications

• A two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Demonstrated competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on various medical equipment.
• Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards.
• Familiarity with the setup and application of test equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.
• Level III Experience - A minimum of five years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance.

Eligibility

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role
• Must provide proof of COVID vaccination + Flu vaccination during flu season, or, as an alternative, appropriate documentation that will support either a medical or religious exemption.

Compensation

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Salary range

$70,000 - $90,000

We are offering a $5,000 signing bonus for those that are local to the facility OR for those that are willing to relocate, $5,000 relocation assistance.
