Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. is seeking an Inventory Coordinator to support Biomedical Engineering operations in Greensburg, PA.

You will log parts orders, manage CMMS, run reports, and assist technicians with maintenance tasks while maintaining accurate inventory records and adherence to regulatory forms. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least two years in equipment/parts inventory or ordering, strong leadership, organization, and clear communication across diverse teams.

Job description

Essential Job Functions

• Receives parts orders, logs information and distributes.
• Creates and deletes new equipment in CMMS and updates inventories.
• Runs CMMS reports and creates custom reports.
• Performs QA on work orders of technicians.
• May assign work orders with Lead Tech needs assistance or is away.
• Assists the technicians by performing tasks such as holding, lifting and/or moving of equipment, tools or materials.
• Demonstrate a basic knowledge of storeroom inventory and inventory control procedure.
• Performs basic equipment maintenance tasks and trouble calls.
• Assist Biomedical Engineering technicians with routine and preventive maintenance work orders on building systems and equipment. May independently do basic PMs and repairs.
• Occasionally acts as a relief for technicians during manpower shortages and excessive preventive maintenance periods.
• Maintains documentation of services provided through completion of time sheets, timecards, work orders, inventory sign-out sheets, quick calls and all regulatory compliance forms.
• Answers phone calls and routes or completes follow-up.
• May provide assistance with budget process, credit card purchases, and purchase orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Experience

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
• Two (2) years of experience in equipment/parts inventory systems and software or equipment/parts ordering.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Experience in electronic and computer related work.

License, Certification & Clearances

• Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
• Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
