Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering.
5 years progressive experience repairing and maintaining medical imaging equipment.
Willingness to travel to remote hospital sites and flexible work schedule.
Knowledge of modern electronic equipment, QA procedures and preventive maintenance procedures.
Advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Responsibilities

Repair, install, inspect, troubleshoot, and calibrate equipment.
Procure best value products, labor, and parts sources to minimize service costs.
Complete preventive maintenance workload with high PM compliance (95%+).
Prioritize maintenance per medical equipment policy.
Conduct inventory assessments and recommend specialty equipment purchases.
Participate in continuous performance improvement initiatives for medical equipment.
Oversee external contractors/vendors engaged in equipment services.
Perform repairs on defective or malfunctioning equipment.
Review and improve preventive maintenance and QA testing procedures.

Provides advanced levels of equipment and/or departmental service and support and performs preventive maintenance, quality assurance inspections, and installation.

Repairs, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and calibrates equipment.
Procures best value products, labor, and parts sources in order to minimize the total cost of service to the organization.
Completes the preventive maintenance (PM) workload to achieve a consistently high level of PM compliance over time (95% or greater).
Prioritizes scheduled maintenance in accordance with medical equipment maintenance policy.
Executes professional-level inventory assessments/audits and makes recommendations for specialty equipment purchases.
Participates in the continuous performance improvement initiatives in regards to medical equipment.
Oversees the work of external contractors/vendors engaged in providing services for specialized equipment.
Performs repairs on defective or malfunctioning equipment.
Reviews, modifies, develops, and implements written preventive maintenance and quality assurance testing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree Electronics or Biomedical Engineering.
5 years Progressive experience in performing direct component level repair and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field.
Ability and willingness to travel to remote hospital sites and to periodically conform to a flexible work schedule on an as needed basis.
Knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic equipment, quality assurance procedures, and preventive maintenance procedures.
Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

Specialized Diploma Attendance at five or more equipment-specific training courses related to the equipment specific specialty area of expertise (extensive hands on experience may be considered equivalent to specific training courses).
7 years Progressive experience in performing direct component level repair and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field.
CRES - Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and
DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Additional Qualifications

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
