Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety testing, calibration, installation and routine service on general and specialized medical equipment, under the Clinical Engineering Manager.

You will diagnose problems using thermodynamic, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles, document results, and communicate repair status to users and CE managers.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in medical electronics or related field; CBET certification preferred.
• Three to five years experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on medical devices and clinical support equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, FDA and related regulations for clinical equipment service and repair.
• Strong customer service and communication skills to interact with hospital staff and vendors.
• Ability to operate complex test equipment and follow complex instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs PM procedures on general and specialized clinical equipment.
• Performs corrective maintenance and diagnoses problems using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other principles.
• Notifies CE managers and users of repair status and delays as needed.
• Interacts with clinical staff to minimize interference with hospital operations.
• Order parts and supplies as needed and document actions per policy.
• Provides on-call service coverage after normal business hours.
