Job summary

Montefiore Einstein is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support clinical, biomedical, analytical, and laboratory systems. Responsibilities include testing, calibration, preventive maintenance, and documentation in line with regulatory standards; travel to off-site Einstein locations may be required.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred) and 1–3 years’ healthcare equipment experience; CBET is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field required.
• 1–3 years of biomedical equipment experience preferred; BS accepted.
• CBET certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on biomedical and clinical equipment.
• Conduct testing, calibration, and safety checks for regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on medical and laboratory equipment.
• Inspect, evaluate, and document equipment condition and service outcomes.
• Maintain accurate CMMS documentation.
• Assist in installation, configuration, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Respond to service requests and prioritize based on urgency.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to identify issues and resolve them.
• Provide basic user education on proper equipment use.
• Comply with safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
