Job summary

AdventHealth in Killeen, TX is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain and service complex medical devices. You will perform inspections, repairs, calibrations, and documentation, coordinating with vendors to ensure quality service and accurate records.

Engage with clinicians to discuss equipment status and performance, while managing inventory and regulatory compliance. The role requires 5+ years in a clinical engineering environment, Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, and

Qualifications

• Complex computer skills to administer systems, interpret error codes, defragment drives, replace power supplies, and apply networking concepts.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication abilities.
• Must read, write, and understand conversational English.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification on complex biomedical equipment.
• Repairs, installs, and calibrates equipment; informs supervisors of status and issues.
• Coordinates with subcontractors, vendors, and service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
• Maintains equipment database integrity, including inventory, schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
• Adheres to the Medical Equipment Management Plan and regulatory requirements.
• Builds relationships with clinicians to discuss equipment status and functionality.
• Maintains inventory with periodic inspections and incoming inspections.
• Participates in on-call rotation and travel within the region as needed.

Job Description:

Shift: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

• Performs performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification procedures on complex biomedical equipment.
• Repairs, installs, and calibrates complex biomedical equipment and systems. Informs supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and any customer concerns.
• Works with, directs, and documents activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
• Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, performance assurance schedules, nomenclature, naming conventions, and service history.
• Adheres to the Medical Equipment Management Plan, including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures.
• Builds and maintains customer relationships, discussing equipment status and functionality with clinicians.
• Performs periodic inspections of current inventory status and incoming inspections to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices.
• Participates in on-call rotation and flexible work time as required, travelling with the region as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Complex computer skills required, including the ability to administrate a system, interpret error codes, defragment hard drives, replace power supplies, interpret computer codes, and apply networking concepts
• Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills
• Formal documented training on medical device maintenance
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of the theory, operation, and repair of medical instrumentation and electronic systems [Preferred]

• Associate [Preferred]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 5+ experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Certified Biomedical Equipment Tech (CBET) [Preferred]
• Driver's License (DL) [Required]
