Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain and repair general patient care, diagnostic, and life-support equipment across the WVUHS system. The role supports safety, reliability, and uptime of critical devices throughout the hospital.

The incumbent will advance technical skills through on-the-job and formal trainings, participate in equipment evaluations, and ensure scheduled inspections are completed on time. Some travel to remote WVU facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with two years of repair/maintenance experience.
• DoD program plus two years of experience in repairs/maintenance.
• High school diploma plus four years of experience in repairs/maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment to minimize breakdowns and ensure inspections are completed.
• Recommends improvements to equipment management to reduce costs without impacting care.
• Attends training to maintain competence in biomedical engineering and related technologies.
• Coordinates projects, tracks status, and communicates risks and changes to stakeholders.
• Travel to WVUHS facilities for implementations, training, and support when required.
