Job summary

Palo Alto Hospital seeks an experienced biomedical equipment technician to maintain, service, calibrate, adjust, repair and test general and specialized medical equipment. The role requires handling complex repairs and documenting calibration across patient care devices, while ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission standards and other regulators.

Candidate must have an associate degree in biomedical engineering technology or related field, with 5–7 years of related experience.

Qualifications

Associate degree in biomedical engineering technology or related field is required.
Bachelor degree in any related field is preferred.
Five years of related experience in a full service biomedical section/department or company is required.
Seven years of related experience is preferred.
ICC Certification for radiology equipment (CRES) preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains, services, calibrates, adjusts, repairs, and tests general and specialized medical equipment for the University Health.
Provides and documents complex repairs and calibration services on a broad range of patient care and support equipment.
Interacts with clinical staff, management, nurses and physicians, ancillary staff and outside vendors; complies with policies and procedures.
