TSTC faculty deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate activities and discussions that engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship to students.
- Interpret and administer assessments, and offer constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes.
- Integrate technology effectively to enrich the educational experiences.
- Act as ambassadors for their programs and TSTC.
- Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
- Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans, and organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative/innovative techniques.
- Maintain accurate student records and instructional environment with emphasis on safety and equipment security.
- Provide student advisement ensuring timely, accurate, and comprehensive information.
- Collaborate with the Office of Student Success to provide current information on tutoring and retention programs.
- Participate in related tours and recruitment events and assist in department/program planning for recruitment.
- Demonstrate willingness to be of service and exhibit pleasant and courteous behavior toward students, parents, employers, media, coworkers, and the public.
- Maintain flexibility, including availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignments.
- Commit to the mission, vision and values of the college.
Other Duties
- Teaching & Learning: Deliver high quality instruction; organize daily classes using creative/innovative techniques; tailor teaching methods to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Mentorship & Coaching: Understand and empathize with student experiences; provide personalized guidance and support; articulate ideas clearly and foster open communication.
- Assessment & Feedback: Create and utilize assessments to provide constructive feedback and guide learning; continually evaluate and improve teaching strategies.
- Technology Integration: Effectively use technology to enhance learning experiences.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Licenses
- In-depth knowledge and technical aptitude in the Biomedical/HTM field.
- Excellent communicator with exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.
- Knowledge of curriculum development aligned with industry standards.
- Perform performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification procedures on complex biomedical equipment.
- Repair, install, and calibrate complex biomedical equipment.
- Work with, direct, and document activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, performance assurance schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
- Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan, including regulatory agency compliances and applicable policies and procedures.
- Complete written clinical performance evaluation forms for students in a timely manner.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Participate in recruiting and promotional activities.
- Follow established TSTC policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate competency with technology that supports learning and teaching.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, including availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignments.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Licenses
- Functional supervision in lab training environments and effective teaching strategies and classroom management skills.
- Certifications: Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT); Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET); Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES); Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES); OSHA – 6S – Infection Control; OSHA 10 Authorized Trainer.
- Excellent assessment skills, time management, leadership in the classroom, and communication with students.
- Maintain boundaries with faculty/student, public speaking skills.
- Technical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and diagnosis of medical equipment.
- Catalog, inventory, and networking skills.
- Set up equipment networks and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- General knowledge of DC, AC, and digital circuits.
- Exceptional lab and classroom management skills.
- Preferred prior teaching experience.
Salary Range
$68,400 – $78,661 (final salary offer will be determined based on candidate qualifications and experience).
