Job summary

Bluebird Staffing seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 in Tampa, FL, to maintain clinical equipment under the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Installs, calibrates and repairs a limited scope of biomedical devices following AAMI standards to support patient care in a hospital setting.

Requires an Associate degree or equivalent and 2–4 years of related experience, with strong knowledge of clinical equipment and hospital operations. Evening shift, full-time, on-site, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year Associate degree, military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI’s Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician.
• 2–4 years of related experience and demonstration of the listed skills/experience.

Biomedical Equipment Technician 2

Job Summary
Maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a limited scope of biomedical equipment. Performs duties and established and recognized standards as adopted by the Association for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Hospital.

• Completion of a 2-year Associate degree, military training, or academic work aligned with AAMI’s Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician, and a basic knowledge of mathematics, anatomy, physiology, biology, physics, chemistry, medical terminology, English, computer and networking peripherals, and professional skills. This position requires a comprehensive knowledge level and experience in most or all facets of the job.
• This level typically requires 2-4 years of related experience and demonstration of the specific skills/experience listed below.

Specific Skills/Experience

• Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported
• Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care
• Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support (hospital, clinic, etc.)
• Has comprehensive experience in their assigned clinical environment
